Usually we like to engage your creativity, but it’s new season, new styles, so we’d like some new Deadlies. We thought we’d get you to help us embrace them by basically bribing you to tell EVERYONE about us!You must know some awesome people, right? Cos you’re all great so I reckon you must be knocking about with some fun types.
So, it’s pretty simple. There are 5 £100 vouchers up for grabs, and, due to me being an idiot and Typing-Whilst-Tired, ONE £500 voucher.
To be in with a chance to win, you need to share one of these pictures publically. Or more! Maybe a few times! #kissmedeadlywinner! And of course if you tag us on facebook we’ll see it.

Er … and that’s it basically. Told you it was easy.
You have until November - I’ll pick winners on the 1st November.

I have a Kiss Me Deadly longline girdle that I LOVE, and I’m dying for one of their Van Doren suspender belts and I desperately want to try the Cupless Vargas dress. The blog needs more stuff like this! Cross your fingers for me?

tightlacedprincess:

I’ve been fully closed for a few days now, just haven’t had a chance to take a photo.

I’m wearing orchard corsets 411 32”, although it measures to be 35” fully closed, which…confuses me.

There are so many things I would do for this bra oh my god its beautiful.

The first two illustrations are mere speculation of the position of a tightlacer’s organs, drawn by an artist who only had a basic knowledge of anatomy, during a time when Germ Theory was not even widely accepted.

The second two photos are real MRI scans of modern tightlacer Eden Berlin, in a non-ferrous corset made by TO.mTO, presented by Dr. Eckhart von Hirschhausen. Liver and stomach are slightly shifted above the waist, and the morphology of the liver is barely changed. Kidneys and lungs show no notable change either. The most affected organ is the large intestine, which by nature is flexible and easily flattens/ moves aside - otherwise peristalsis, pregnancy, yoga or basic twisting or movement of the torso would be impossible.

For more info, I’ve written a post about it on my website here.

It’s time to stop perpetuating baseless myths about how corsets affect your internal organs and look to modern science.

But at the same time, you can literally go and look at organs that have imprints of ribs on them?  This is a screenshot from a documentary called ‘Hidden Killers of the Victorian Home’ (not to be confused with another documentary in the same series confusingly named almost the same, you can find that on youtube, the episode I’m talking about is only on bbc iplayer).  There’s also an entire section about how the internal organs ARE effected, not to mention your breathing patterns and oxygen intake.

Sooo?????

I’ve actually written a response to the “Hidden Killers of the Victorian Home” episode you’re talking about - read here. The change in tidal volume is actually not incredibly drastic, and subject and circumstances were hardly typical.

Regarding indentation of organs - have you ever dissected a preserved lab rat? You can see the imprint of their ribcage on their organs. You can also see the imprints of other organs on their organs (like how the heart and lungs nestle into one another). Corsets are not necessary to be able to see indentations on organs. Also, please provide evidence of indentation negatively correlating with function.
